Spring 2009 Series

Actor's Lab
Wednesdays 7pm - 9:30pm (February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, May 6th)
A place for actors to experiment with new material or work on old material. Monologue work, scene work optional. Informal class setting. Note: You do not need to attend all sessions; drop-ins welcome. Cost: Pay-What-You-Can. 

6-Week Acting Intensive
Mondays 7pm - 9pm (February 9, 16, 23. March 2, 9, 16)
A six-week intensive focusing on Stanislavski's Method Acting. Instructor: David Leonard Wince. Cost: $60.

Writing a One-Person Show
Thursday, March 12th. 7pm-10pm. Cost: $15
The focus of the workshop will be the development of ideas for creating a one-person show. Instructor: Jason Cadieux.

Writing a Ten-Minute Play
Saturday, April 25 and May 2nd. 10am-5pm. Cost: $40.
Join Dominik Loncar as he takes participants through an imaginative journey of visceral, playful movement activities. The focus of the first workshop will be Preparation, and the second being Illumination.

Work in Progress Theatre Presents: Producing Your Show

A how-to session on producing led by Jane Gardner, General Manager at Carousel Theatre that helps to answer: How do you communicate your artistic vision to public funders through grants? How do you get your work presented or produced at theatres? What do I need to know about Equity, Playwrights Guild and Associated Designers of Canada and their agreements? How far ahead do I need to plan and budget to secure the theatre and resources I need to produce my play?

About the instructor:
Jane Gardner has over twenty years of experience in communications, marketing, fundraising and arts management at theatres including Blyth Festival, Great Canadian Theatre Company, and Theatre New Brunswick. She served as Executive Director at Theatre Ontario for six years.


Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects - Young Company

Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects is excited to announce the debut of its Young Company! There will be two semesters of comprehensive professional theatre training taught by Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects company members, Brock University faculty and staff, and Shaw Festival ensemble members. The training will culminate in the Young Company's production of the Diary of Anne Frank in April, 2009.
